Artist John Gerrard is joined in conversation by Artistic Director of Galway International Arts Festival Paul Fahy for this live and online event to discuss the making of Mirror Pavilion.

Widely regarded as a key figure in the development of simulation within contemporary art, John Gerrard offers us incredible virtual portraits of the world and have helped us understand where art can go in the 21st century.

Created using real–time computer graphics, a technology used extensively in the gaming industry, his works are created over the course of months and sometimes even years as evident in Mirror Pavilion, his Galway International Arts Festival commission for Galway 2020. Mirror Pavilion will be installed on Galway’s Claddagh Quay in September and on Derrigimlagh Bog in Connemara in October.
