Ticketing

Ticketsolve provides the ticketing system for Galway International Arts Festival (GIAF).

Exchanges and Refunds

Once purchased, ticket(s) cannot be refunded or exchanged. We are unable to refund tickets for a rescheduled show once the event has begun. Any amendments including refunds or exchanges to tickets purchased to an event which has been rescheduled (due to Covid-19 or other) must be requested to boxoffice@giaf.ie before the show takes place. Any tickets purchased after a show has rescheduled to a new date cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Management reserves the right to cancel any performance without prior notice. In this event, tickets may be exchanged or refunded to the face value only from the original point of sale.

We are unable to refund or exchange tickets on the day of a performance for any reason other than those outlined above.

Galway International Arts Festival tickets are valid only when issued by an authorised agent. Tickets may not be resold for commercial purposes or at a premium, nor may they be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes without the prior written consent of GIAF. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the ticket bearer may be refused admission.

Galway International Arts Festival accepts no liability for fraudulent tickets obtained via any service or individual other than Ticketsolve or another Festival-designated entity, including secondhand arrangements, which result in the ticketholder being refused entry.

Fees and Concessions

All ticket prices are inclusive of VAT. There is an online booking fee of €1.50 per ticket when booking online. There is no transaction fee for bookings made by telephone or in person at our Box Office.

Senior citizens, full-time students (with appropriate ID) and the unwaged are able to claim concession tickets at a reduced price where available. Please enquire with the Box Office.

Ticket Despatch

To assist in our sustainability goals traditional paper ticket(s) will not be issued. An emailed PDF ticket is issued by Galway International Arts Festival at the time of booking. This ticket, which along with your confirmation email, serves as proof of purchase, will be scanned at the venue. PDF Tickets can be scanned from your phone.

Events

Latecomers to any Festival event may be asked to wait until a suitable break in the performance before entering the auditorium. If there is no suitable break, latecomers may not be admitted. Management reserves the right to refuse admission where it is deemed in the best interest of the performers and other patrons. Latecomer policies vary among shows, for those where latecomers cannot be admitted we are unable to refund or exchange tickets.

All events taking place in the Festival Big Top are restricted to patrons 16 years of age and older unless accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Although most Galway International Arts Festival venues are fully wheelchair accessible, any accessibility restrictions are noted on the Venues page of the Festival website. If you require disability seating, or to enquire about carer tickets, please email boxoffice@giaf.ie for more information.

Ticketed Festival events may not be photographed, video recorded, audio recorded or in any way reproduced whether for personal or commercial purposes. Management reserves the right to confiscate any material found to be in violation of this rule.

Ticket holders assume all risk of injury and responsibility for lost, destroyed or stolen property at Festival events and releases promoters from all liability thereafter.

Mobile phones must be switched off during ticketed Festival events so as not to disrupt performances.

The use of CCTV may be employed in the Festival Gallery only, which means your likeness may be recorded upon your visit. This is to ensure the protection of the artwork in this space and is used for no other purposes. CCTV records are destroyed upon the completion of each year’s Festival.

Galway International Arts Festival reserves the right to make alterations to the programme or cast of any Festival event without prior notice. Changes may be made to free outdoor events as per weather restrictions. Where stated some events may take place rain or shine and we are unable to refund tickets due to weather conditions if the event is not canceled.

Some Festival events may feature content that is unsuitable for young visitors. This information is available on the Festival website. For enquiries regarding an event’s content and age recommendations/restrictions, please contact us.

Galway International Arts Festival reserves the right to make amendments to these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.

Competitions

The Galway International Arts Festival will occasionally offer giveaways as part of competitions run by promoters. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by both the following Galway International Arts Festival terms and conditions and any additional requirements as set out by the specific competition promoter:

  • The prize is not transferable, exchangeable nor redeemable for cash.
  • Except for the items offered in the prize package all expenses are the winner’s sole responsibility.
  • If transport is included in the competition, it is subject to availability and must be taken on the specified dates, with travel to/from the airport the responsibility of the winner.
  • Seating at the specified performance/s will be selected by the Festival where applicable. Please advise if there are any specific access requirements.
  • The winner will be contacted using the details provided. If a winner cannot be contacted within two working days, Galway International Arts Festival reserves the right to redraw the prize.
  • The promoter's decision regarding the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding this matter.
  • Neither the Festival nor the promoter and its associated agencies & companies shall be liable in any way (including, without limitation, negligence) for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss) or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion except any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Neither the Festival nor the promoter is liable for any tax implications that may arise as a result of winning.
