Ireland’s largest arts festival and leading beer and cider company turn up the volume on music in Galway
Galway International Arts Festival and Heineken® is delighted to announce a major new partnership that will see Ireland’s leading beer and cider company turn up the volume on music in Galway.
The announcement comes following Galway International Arts Festival’s programme launch on Wednesday, 16 May and will see Heineken® assume naming rights of the festival’s iconic music venue, now titled the Heineken® Big Top.
Galway International Arts Festival’s Heineken® Big Top 2018 line-up is set to be the biggest in the festival’s 41-year history, with ten acts taking to the stage over the two weeks of the multidisciplinary summer festival. The 2018 Heineken® Big Top will see three-time Grammy Award winners The Flaming Lips, indie sensation Caribou, pop legends Madness, the sensational Gavin James, The Stunning with special guests The Academic, world music superstars Amadou & Mariam, The RTÉ Concert Orchestra Festival Proms, 2FM Live with Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, alternative rock band Walking on Cars and one of Ireland’s biggest international successes of recent years, Kodaline taking to the stage. The latter three gigs have already sold out.

Located right in the heart of Galway City, in the shade of Galway Cathedral on the banks of the River Corrib, the Heineken® Big Top is Galway International Arts Festival’s trendiest venue. The rising of the big blue tent heralds the start of the festival, which takes over the city for two full weeks every July.
