The People Build in Eyre Square
Rescheduled from today Friday 19 July to Saturday 20 July

Galway International Arts Festival has announced a change in its schedule for today’s event in Eyre Square – The People Build.

Due to the weather forecast for today, The People Build construction due to take place from 11am – 4pm today has been postponed until tomorrow, Saturday. This is a free event.

Construction will take place in Eyre Square from 11am - 4pm this Saturday 20 July and the demolition will take place Sunday at 4pm as scheduled.

Galway International Arts Festival would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Olivier Grossetête’s spectacular architectural project The People Build captured the public’s imagination and attracted huge audiences during his Festival residencies in 2017 and 2018. This year’s construction will be of Galway Cathedral’s steeple.

This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome. The People Build is supported by Walsh Waste and the Embassy of France in Ireland.
