Following what was the fastest selling show in the Festival's history a second Kodaline concert at Galway International Arts Festival's Big Top has just been announced due to public demand. The first concert sold out in less than three hours and it’s expected there will be huge demand for tickets to this second show, which takes place on Friday 17 July.
The Dublin quartet of Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, Vinny May and Jason Boland enjoyed massive success in 2012 with their multi-platinum selling debut album In A Perfect World. The album went Top 3 in Britain, spent nine weeks at No. 1 in their native Ireland and brought them to the attention of Europe and the US.
The band released their second album Coming Up For Air earlier this year. The album may be a sonic step on, but at its core remains Kodaline’s ability to connect instantly with an audience, reflecting the fact that their recently announced UK and Irish tour dates are all sold out.
The Guardian wrote in a review of their live performance, "You can't dispute Kodaline's near-mastery of the big and the windswept."
Kodaline play the Festival Big Top on Friday 17th July with doors open at 7pm. Tickets priced at €45 go on sale at www.giaf.ie and roisindubh.net on Friday 24th April at 9am.
