Nun’s Island

Nun’s Island Theatre

Once an old Presbyterian Church, Nun’s Island has been transformed into a modern, yet charming 90-seater theatre. Home to the Galway Youth Theatre, in addition to many young professional theatre companies and practitioners in the city, it also hosts concerts, seminars, films and symposia.

Some on-street parking is available, in addition to two nearby car parks.

Accessibility: step-free entrance, social narrative guide available at
Disabled Parking Spots: Nun’s Island (1 across the road from the theatre), Mill Street car park (3)
Toilets: Nun’s Island Theatre's accessible bathroom floor size measures 1420mm x 1980mm at its entrance, which is now below industry standards. Universal access is a priority and this will be rectified in 2024/2025 when redevelopment works are due to take place.
