One of the most momentous effects of COVID-19 was the move to remote working on the part of large numbers of people in Ireland. Could this become a more permanent change, and lead to the revitalisation of parts of rural Ireland currently in decline? We have four experts in the subject to discuss: Tomás O’Siocháin, CEO of the Western Development Commission, John Evoy, General Manager at Grow Remote, Professor Alma McCarthy, Head of the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at NUI Galway, and renowned architect Valerie Mulvin, author of Approximate Formality – Morphology of Irish Towns.
This event will be moderated by Sarah McInerney of RTÉ.
These talks will be recorded and available to watch on this page and on Galway International Arts Festival's YouTube channel within hours of taking place. All First Thought Talks will be available to listen to on GIAF's First Thought podcast later this year.
