Victoria McCormack's work seeks to uncover the fragility of individual experience behind the masks worn in society. Peeling back the layers of beliefs learned about ourselves and our bodies to overcome the vulnerablilty of the self. In exploring objects and places as metaphors for the self and differing states of mind, the live element of performance is essential link in her work between these metaphors and the immediacy of real life.
