As the statue of colonialist Cecil Rhodes came down at the University of Cape Town, seven students wrote the sensational play The Fall, which marshals the power of protest song and dance, to unpack discrimination in all its forms. The production took South Africa, Edinburgh, London and New York by storm, captivating audiences and wowing critics, and now comes to Galway for an exclusive limited Festival run.
As colonialist and patriarchal icons are dismantled across the world, The Fall goes to the heart of how race, class, gender, power and history’s voices intersect.
