The Cave

by Kevin Barry
directed by Caitríona McLaughlin

"The casting of Aaron Monaghan and Tommy Tiernan as this abject couple works extremely well. You can feel the depravity in which they exist. The two sling insults at each other, but there is a sense that they are inseparable; their chances of a normal existence have long since passed."

- No More Workhorse

We meet the McRae brothers in a dead zone in the mountains of south county Sligo.

Sleeping rough in a cave and in trouble with the law, Archie and Bopper are running out of road. This desperate pair have only each other to rely on as they try to restart their van, their lives and their WiFi connection.

The Cave is an unforgettable black comedy from the pen of one of Ireland’s most beloved writers.

This world premiere production, featuring a stellar Irish cast of Aaron Monaghan, Judith Roddy and Tommy Tiernan, is directed by the Abbey Theatre’s Artistic Director, Caitríona McLaughlin.
