Formed in 1977 at a time when punk ruled Dublin, The Blades, fronted by Paul Cleary, released two 7” singles on Energy Records with Hot For You and the classic Ghost Of A Chance.
The band released their first album The Last Man in Europe in January 1985 as well as the singles collection Raytown Revisited which is included in the book 101 Irish Albums to hear before you die by Irish Times writer Tony Clayton Lea. The Blades reformed in 2013 and since then have released an EP Smalltime, the single Harder Times, and the album Modernised.
