Brú Theatre

Pádraicín

created by Rodrigo Pardo and James Riordan

A new work inspired by the life of Galway writer Pádraic Ó Conaire, Pádraicín transforms the city into a living stage.

Audiences gather in Eyre Square and move alongside the performers through the streets to the Spanish Arch. The audience wear headphones as scenes unfold around them, with Ó Conaire’s characters and ideas drifting into view. Blending dance, music and text, past and present intertwine in an immersive theatrical experience.

Presented primarily in English, with some Irish.

Supported by GIAF’s Elevate Bursary.
