Joan Sugrue’s practice reflects her continued interest in colonialism and power politics.
The work is a reflection of her mixed childhood memories as well as newly found research carried out for each body of work. A member of Engage Studios, Joan has exhibited nationally and internationally including in the Marmite Prize V [London], Contemporary British Prize for Painting [London], and the Elysium Gallery [Wales].
