Support by Sam Amidon
Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey are two of Ireland's favourite and most gifted musicians. Ever since The Frames stormed the Irish music scene back in the 90s, Hansard has been one of the most popular and recognisable performers on the Irish landscape. His subsequent Oscar-winning international success with the film - and now musical - Once has lifted his star even higher. His first studio solo album Rhythm and Repose was released last year to widespread acclaim.
Damien Dempsey released his sixth studio album Almighty Love in October 2012. As anyone fortunate enough to have experienced them will testify, Damien's live gigs are the stuff of legend. It's no surprise then he has been invited to perform with everyone form Bob Dylan to Sinead O'Connor and Willie Nelson to Morrissey. Support from American folk singer Sam Amidon whose solo performances take on a life of their own and are a beautiful assault on the senses. Galway audiences can look forward to Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey lifting the roof off the Festival Big Top this summer.
