Breakfast on Pluto (a Musical Work in Progress)

based on the novel by Patrick McCabe

writer Bob Kelly
composer Duke Special
director and co–creator Des Kennedy

The rural Irish border town of Tyreelin at the height of the Troubles is no place for a wonderfully erratic child like Patrick / Pussy Braden, illegitimate offspring of an errant priest and a long–gone local girl.

Dismayed by small–town bigotry, religious repression and the IRA’s lack of fashion sense, they set out for the big city of London in search of their long–lost mother, and a fantastic world where their feet don’t touch the ground. Breakfast on Pluto is a journey of self–discovery that all fabulously attired, highly–strung foundling glam–things will love.

Created by a stellar creative team and a sensational cast, be one of the first to get a glimpse of this dazzling musical coming–of–age story, with two late–night work–in–progress performances in a cabaret setting, ahead of its full world premiere production at GIAF 2020.

Please note that this is a musical work in progress. The full production will premiere at Galway International Arts Festival 2020.
