Alice Maher

As part of her solo exhibition in Galway, Alice Maher presents a specially commissioned animated film. Enantios is the Greek word for 'opposite' and the artist's work interrogates the Jungian theory that 'everything eventually turns into its opposite'. Godchildren of Enantios is the world of the Hybrid, where bulls, birds, bells, bath chairs, teddy boys, headless woman and legless men, all disport themselves to a wonderful soundtrack by composer Trevor Knight. The artist has recently moved into animation and this show will present four of her film - drawings, as well as two new sculptural works and a limited edition print made to coinide with the exhibition.
