Armed with lyrics that veer between tenderness and anguish, soundscapes that sit back, and then explode into colour, with vocals that roar of heartache and romantic longing, Walking on Cars are set to provide the soundtrack to the summer when they play the Festival this July.
The double platinum selling Dingle five-piece caught music lovers’ imagination in 2012 with their early singles Catch Me If You Can and Two Stones, which were huge Irish hits.
The EPs As We Fly South and Hand in Hand followed, with their massive follow up single Speeding Cars amplifying the buzz with over 5 million streams.
A series of sell-out shows both here and the UK consolidated their reputation and, when their debut album Everything This Way was released in January 2016, it went straight to No. 1 in Ireland and made the Top 5 in seven countries.
Walking on Cars (Patrick Sheehy, Sorcha Durham, Dan Devane, Paul Flannery and Evan Hadnett) wowed audiences at Galway International Arts Festival in 2014, when they played support to The Coronas at their sold-out gig at the Festival Big Top. Their first Festival Big Top headline appearance is sure to be a great night for the ever growing legion of fans.

Wyvern Lingo will play support to Walking on Cars on the night.
The band, who are made up of Caoimhe Barry on vocals and drums, Karen Cowley on vocals, synth and bass, and Saoirse Duane on vocals and guitar, have just released their long-awaited debut album, simply called Wyvern Lingo. They are currently embarking on their biggest headline tour to date, across Ireland, the UK, Germany and The Netherlands.
