We’re committed to providing a Festival that’s accessible to all, in every sense of the word.

Galway International Arts Festival takes great care to ensure that our programme and services are provided in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities.

We also aim to offer a programme and service that’s integrated, allowing all an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the Festival.

For questions or comments regarding accessibility at the Festival email If you do have a special need, make sure to tell us when you're booking your tickets or email in advance of your arrival. It will help us make your experience much more enjoyable.

Purchasing Tickets

To purchase Galway International Arts Festival tickets, please call our box office on +353 91 566 577 (re-opening June 18th 2018). If you require spaces for mobility devices, such as a wheelchair or scooter, or spaces for a support person or service animal, please advise the box office when booking. For most ticketed events, venues have designated spaces to accommodate those using mobility devices.

Every reasonable effort is made to ensure that all venues are fully accessible to people with disabilities. As this is not always possible, please check with the box office or directly with each venue. Some venues are not wheelchair accessible and don't have wheelchair accessible toilets. You can find additional information about each venue and its accessibility on the Venues page.

Heineken Big Top Seating

Accessible seating is available in a convenient riser location with good stage sightlines at the Heineken Big Top tent. The elevated riser is for those using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The accessible seating riser is a non-smoking area and space is available on a first come, first served basis. If you’d like accessible seating, we recommend you arrive early for concerts and performances, as seating in these areas is limited.

Guide Dogs

The accompaniment of service animals in areas or premises that are open to the public is recognised, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Galway International Arts Festival defers to, and follows, any venue-specific policies and procedures.
