
Submissions for GIAF 2023 have closed.
GIAF welcomes submissions across all genres including performance, music, visual arts, podcasts and video. GIAF aims to feature new projects by artists from all backgrounds.
We encourage applications from artists who are currently underrepresented in the Irish arts sector, including but not limited to artists of colour, members of the Traveller community, artists who identify as LGBTQI+, migrants, and artists with disabilities.
GIAF is a not-for-profit organisation, which raises its income from ticket sales, fundraising and sponsorship, along with public sector grants. The Festival is not a funding body.
How to Submit
To submit your proposal to the Festival you will need the following:
- A summary of your proposal [max 500 words]
- A budget in support of your proposed project
- A list of all the lead artists involved with brief biogs [150 words max].
- Links to no more than three previous projects
All relevant information should be contained within one Word or PDF document and emailed to submissions@giaf.ie with SUBMISSIONS 2023 written in the subject line.
Queries should be sent info@giaf.ie with SUBMISSION 2023 QUERY written in the subject line.
While we prefer and encourage electronic submissions, postal submissions are also accepted. If you are submitting by post please do not send any master copies of documents as we are not in a position to return materials. Postal submissions should be sent to: Submissions, Galway International Arts Festival, Black Box Theatre, Dyke Road, Galway H91C9PP, Ireland.
Selection Process and Feedback
Galway International Arts Festival is a curated Festival and participation is by invitation only with submissions and projects selected by the Festival’s Artistic Director.
Please be aware that, due to the large volume of submissions received, we cannot respond or offer assessment and feedback to every submission individually. All submissions received will be acknowledged. All submissions are reviewed and if your submission is being considered for inclusion in the Festival, we will be in contact with you by Friday 17 February 2023.
