New York Dolls

Reformed in 2004 to play the Meltdown Festival curated by Morrissey, the New York Dolls were as notable for their extravagant behaviour as for their raucous performances. As the precursors to punk, and afterthought to the seed sexuality of the Rolling Stones and the Velvet Underground, the New York Dolls linked 60s rock to American punk. A major influence on the rock music scene in New York City, they have accumulated a devoted cult following.
