Charles Lamb

Lamb in Connemara

Many people mistakenly believe that Charles Lamb was from Connemara, because so much of his work is associated with the West Of Ireland, when in reality the painter came form the Northern Ireland. The Irish writer Pádraig O'Conaire first encouraged Lamb to paint the unspoilt landscape and simple lifestyle of the West of Ireland. This exhibition examines Lamb's relationship with Connemara, the people and the landscape which provided great subject matter for his paintings.
