Throughout her career, the underlying theme of Jay Murphy's work has been the relationship between man and nature, maintenance and the wild, balance and conflict. Hydro takes as its visual starting point and inspiration the 1925 Ardnarcrusha Hydroelectric Scheme which transformed Ireland, bringing electricity to farms and rural homes.
