Professor Abhay Pandit

How a Pandemic Will Allow Us to be Healthier in the Future?

The past year has seen extraordinary advances and unprecedented collaboration between community, clinicians, researchers and industry in the world of medical technology to find urgent solutions to global healthcare problems. What does this mean for the future of medicines and medical device research? Have healthcare goals changed? Are there technologies and treatments within our grasp now that just a year ago seemed out of reach in our lifetime?

Has the pandemic hastened the arrival of more personalised therapies that work for individual genetic codes? Professor Abhay Pandit, Scientific Director of CÚRAM, the SFI Research Centre for Medical Devices based at NUI Galway, will reflect on the opportunities that have arisen from the pandemic which will advance our ability to improve the quality of life for people living with chronic illness on a global scale.

The seating of this event is arranged in socially distant pods of two persons known to each other. Unfortunately due to extremely limited capacity we are unable to accommodate single bookings at this time.
