Harvesting his own willow, Joe Hogan makes both functional and sculptural baskets.
His work incorporates birch twigs, bog myrtle, catkins, lichens and other wild materials and is prompted by a desire to develop a deeper connection with the natural world.
Hogan is regarded as one of Ireland’s master craftsmen and has gained a worldwide reputation for his work. His home and the landscape near Loch na Fooey, Co. Galway have had a profound influence on the style and diversity of his work.
Official opening by John Behan RHA at The Kenny Gallery, Liosbán Retail Park, Tuam Road, H91 N5P8, on Friday 12th July at 6:00pm. All are welcome!
