Born in1969, Emma Donoghue is an Irish writer who lives in Canada. Best known for fiction, her work includes Slammerkin, Stir-Fry, The Sealed Letter and Room, an international bestseller which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and won the Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year, the 2011 Commonwealth Prize for Fiction and the Rodgers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize.
