Facebook Live-Stream of First Thought Talks
On the weekends of Saturday July 21 - Sunday July 22 and from Saturday July 28 - Sunday July 29, we explore the theme of 'home' at our First Thought Talks. The talks shines a light on ‘Home’ in all its many forms and this year President Michael D. Higgins will launch the talks with a meditation on the idea of home.
The First Thought Talks programme is curated by historian and archivist Catriona Crowe. First Thought Talks 2018 features 18 talks from academics, activists, architects, reporters, poets and writers with 43 participants including Catherine Corless, Andrew O’Hagan, John Lanchester, Sarah Hickson, Liz Fekete, Roy Foster, Tomi Reichental, Mitchell Joachim, Paula Meehan, Lucy McDiarmid and Diarmuid Ferriter amongst an extensive number of leading international voices and journalists from around the world.
