40th Festival World Premieres

This year, Galway International Arts Festival (GIAF) presents four world premiere theatre productions, one of which has just been announced, Woyzeck in Winter.  The 'spectacular' production of Tristan & Yseult  by Kneehigh will take to the Town Hall Theatre stage, and promises to be an exceptional theatrical experience. World-class theatre company Druid's Crestfall will also take to the stage as part of our theatre line-up.  We have an inspiring First Thought programme lined up, in addition to awe-inspiring European Street Theatre and with 2017 marking such an important milestone for the Festival, we will also have some special announcements to make regarding this year’s programme.

Galway International Arts Festival Touring 2017

Of course, GIAF is much more than an annual two-week festival; we are a major cultural organization, which also develops and produces new work that tours nationally and internationally. As such, we will also be touring to New York with Arlington, while Ballyturk and Arlington opened the 2017 season in the Abbey Theatre, Dublin this Spring.

In the coming weeks, we will be announcing more exciting acts. Sign up to our Newsletter and be the first to hear about them.
