Jenny Greene and The Coronas Headline Party Weekend

Two of Ireland’s hottest acts right now: 2FM's Jenny Greene & the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and The Coronas, will play GIAF's End of Festival Party with a weekend of celebrations to mark our 40th anniversary.

Jenny Greene & the RTÉ Concert Orchestra for GIAF 2017

In what promises to be a great End of Festival party weekend, Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will tear the roof off the Absolut Big top with their Dance Anthems set on Friday 28th July, while festival favourites The Coronas will rock the Festival to a close on Saturday 29th July.

The collaboration between Jenny Greene and the 48-piece RTÉ Concert Orchestra debuted at Electric Picnic to rave reviews in 2016, where the show featured live performances of 90’s club classic hits such as Silence, Adagio for Strings, Everybody’s Free, Insomnia and Missing.

Such was the success of the gig and the response to it that Dance Anthems, complete with stunning visuals, featuring Gemma Sugrue on vocals and with conductor Gavin Murphy, played two sold-out gigs at Dublin’s 3Arena earlier this year. This will be one of the hottest festival music tickets this year and a very special End of Festival party event this summer in Galway.

Festival Favourites The Coronas to mark GIAF 40th

Headlining on Saturday 29 July, and closing GIAF 2017 will be firm festival favourites The Coronas, who make a welcome return to the Absolut Big Top. One of Ireland’s biggest selling rock acts, The Coronas have several platinum-selling albums to their name, including the exquisite Closer to You and The Long Way.

The band have achieved widespread international critical acclaim, touring across the world over the last number of years, while still managing to remain one of Ireland's most popular live acts. A great night in prospect which is guaranteed to delight their legions of devoted fans.

The End of Festival summer parties will also include some special support acts to be announced, spectacular lighting, production and special effects, pop-up appearance by French street theatre company Close-Act, food concessions including Gourmet street food and much more.

Commenting on Galway International Arts Festival’s End of Festival Party announcement, Festival CEO John Crumlish said: “Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and The Coronas are two of the hottest acts around right now and will provide for a great finish for the 40th festival.”
