Ballyturk Music Creator Teho Teardo Seeks Guest Guitarists

Are you a talented guitarist? Do you fancy being part of a guest orchestra performing with a world renowned music composer as part of the Galway International Arts Festival? If the answer is yes, then read on!

Teho Teardo will perform his especially composed score to accompany the Man Ray film Return to Reason at St. Nicholas’ Church on Thursday 23rd July at 9pm as part of this year’s Festival.

The performance will feature Teardo on baritone guitar, electronics, piano and percussions, and Elena De Stabile on violin and Stefano Azzolina on viola. The trio will perform Teardo’s original score to an old Man Ray film and will be joined by guest guitarists on stage for a rousing finale.

And this is where you come in. The Festival is looking for 40 right-handed experienced guitarists to join what promises to be a musical treat for musicians and audiences alike. All you need is your guitar, amp, distortion pedal and cables.

Note: A rehearsal with Teho himself will happen on Wednesday 22 July and the performance will be on Thursday 23 July at 9pm.

About Teho Teardo

One of the most active Italian composers for cinema, Teardo has created many soundtracks for renowned directors such as Paolo Sorrentino, Daniele Vicari, Andrea Molaioli and Gabriele Salvatores.Teho created the music for Enda Walsh’s Ballyurk, and has written the score for Frank McGuinness’ The Match Box, which premieres at this year’s Festival.
